Chairman's Business Story
Jinhui Xue - Chairman
The early 2000s were a critical period in China's economic transformation. The reform of state-owned enterprises advanced deeply, and the wave of marketization swept across the country, countless people faced the choice between "iron rice bowl" and "going to the sea to start a business". That year, I resolutely resigned from my position as an engineer in a state-owned machinery factory, and with the accumulation of technology and judgment of the market, I set up my own factory, which began a challenging and opportunistic entrepreneurial journey.
Starting a business is not easy, especially around 2000, when problems such as difficult financing, high market access barriers, and immature supply chains plagued many entrepreneurs. I started with only my personal savings and the joint investment of a few old colleagues, rented a modest factory and hired five workers.
With China's accession to the WTO, the manufacturing industry has seen explosive growth. We seized the opportunity to shift from low-end OEM to high value-added products and introduced high-end instruments to improve efficiency. At the same time, we made technical improvements. By 2010, the factory's annual revenue exceeded ten million dollars, the number of employees increased to one hundred, and a complete R&D, production, and sales team was established.
In retrospect, the choice of entrepreneurship in 2000 was full of risks, but it also came at the right time. The stability of state-owned enterprises allowed me to accumulate technology and industry resources, while the vitality of the private economy provided unlimited possibilities. Today, my factory has developed into a specialized, special and new "small giant" enterprise.
